D.O. Oil Campo de Montiel

Campo de Montiel Oil is an extra virgin olive oil made with the Cornicabra and Picual olive varieties, as the majority, and Manzanilla, Arbequina and Local as secondary, by means of mechanical procedures that do not produce the loss of the product characteristics.

GEOGRAPHIC AREA:
The designation of origin is delimited as the agricultural regions of Mancha. Pastos and Campo de Montiel all of them are located in the province of Ciudad Real in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha. Campo de Montiel is formed by a total of twenty-six municipalities: San Carlos del Valle, Membrilla, San Carlos del Valle, Membrilla, Santa Cruz de Mudela, La Solana, Valdepeñas, Almuradiel, Viso del Marqués, San Lorenzo de Calatrava, Albadalejo, Alcubillas, Alhmabra, Almedina, Carrizosa, Castellas de Santiago, Cózar , Fuenllana, Montiel, Puebla del Príncipe, Santa Cruz de los Cáñamos, Terrinches, Torre de Juan Abad, Torrenueva, Villahermosa, Villamanrique, Villanueva de la Fuente y Villanueva de los Infantes.

FLAVOUR:
The mixture of Cornicabra and Picual gives this oil a flavour that outstanding in its bitterness with a level between 3 and 6, and its spicy tone with a value between 3.4 and 6.3. The other varieties give it apple and almond values.
CHARACTERISTICS:
It has a high percentage of oleic acids and antioxidant polyphenols which make it very stable in the face of danger. Its acidity does not exceed 0,5º and its peroxide index is less than 15.

INFORMATION:
The current olive groves from which Campo de Montiel oil is extracted have an average age of between forty and sixty years
