August fair
The fairs and festivals of Ciudad Real, in honor of the patron saint, Virgen del Prado, are held between August 14 and 22.
During these days, the “Vermouth Dance” is already traditional and increasingly crowded. In the main square a huge tent is built in which different bars in the city offer beers, soft drinks and vermouth, accompanied by magnificent Tapas and the music of different groups that, every day, make everyone who meets there dance.
The fair begins on the 14th with the appointment of exemplary citizens in the main square and the opening of the festivities, followed by the parade of giants and big heads to the fairgrounds. With the inauguration of the booths and the fairgrounds, a week of fun begins: concerts, celebration of the National Show Jumping Competition, bullfights and religious functions that will culminate on the 22nd with the Solemn Procession of the Eighth of the Stma. Virgin of the Prado. The final touch is put on by the rockets at the end of fairs at 00.00 h.
August 14th – 22nd.
